J. William Reynolds 2021 Bethlehem Mayoral Candidacy Announcement
When I first ran for a seat on Bethlehem City Council, I did so because our city was at a crossroads. As a community, we have made tremendous progress towards building a dynamic and diverse city that we can all be proud of. Our work, however, is not done. It is because of that unfinished work that I am writing to you today to inform you of my candidacy to be the next Mayor of Bethlehem. Your support has been crucial to me in the past, and it is with great respect that I ask for the opportunity to earn your vote again. I am proud of my many accomplishments on City Council including
Supporting job creation and budgetary initiatives that have led to Bethlehem’s strongest financial position in decades
Proposed and lead the creation of Bethlehem’s first climate action plan
Proposed and created Northside 2027 – a unique partnership and revitalization strategy for our neighborhoods involving citizens, the Bethlehem Area School District, and Moravian College
Bethlehem’s first open data effort to improve access to public data in an effort to spur innovation and entrepreneurship
